This is a lovely example of a late 1930s GPO 328L with scarce mirror drawer.

This telephone has been totally stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. It has the correct internal switching unit and is fully wired up to work correctly with bell on bell off buttons. The handset is dated 1937 and the internals 1938. The bases on these very early 300 series telephone were not painted. This is a very rare telephone to find from the late 1930s and to think of the history this could tell you from world war 2 makes me tingle when working on it. It has a GPO No12 with alpha numeric face and the dial has been set up using a special line simulator to make sure it will work on both cable and copper wire networks. It has been tested on our own BT line to make sure it is working perfectly. As you can see this is a very nice example of a very sought after telephone. I have fitted a quality new braided hand plaited handset cord manufactured in the UK. I have fitted an electronic microphone and best quality "D" shape plastic line in with a UK telephone plug socket. Please note that this is a genuine GPO telephone from the 1930s and although I restore to the highest of standards they have been in use for over 60 years and can never be described as mint. The bell on bell off buttons are fully working and wired up through the original mechanical internal switch mechanism. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge.
