This is a very rare telephone dating from around 1924. It has a genuine No8 dial fitted and the diagram shows it is original to this telephone as it is wired up to four terminals. The dial also has very unusual number and letter enamel dial face in near perfect condition. This telephone has spent its life in sunny Australia, the finger stop has an Australian Patent. This makes it almost certain to be a Post Master General telephone and you can see where the label would have been fitted to the front. This model is almost identical to the GPO No 121 model. The differences are the dial mount is flat to the body and the ear piece is painted rather than coated. I have restored it to a high standard using a similar finish to the wood that the GPO would have used. It has been wired up to work and is fully tested to dial out and receive perfectly. I have fitted an electronic microphone and have not changed any other parts from its original 1924 state. The rear of the dial is marked C24 and is also stamped No8. It had no back board and I am not sure in Australia it would have had one? This is ready to plug in and go and I find it almost un-believable that something of this age can still be used today. This is not something I ma likely to ever get is again and so if you like it buy it.
