This is a truly wonderful telephone. It is a GPO 162 dated 1937 in thermosetting Bakelite type material. The collector has kept this as found and not restored and so still retains some authentic dirt but would polish up to perfection. It has no damage at all and even the handset has not stressed cracks. It also has a genuine ivory bell set in undamaged original condition. If this is not enough to get your collector juices going then take a look at the GPO Ivory Bakelite dial. This is extremely rare and only the most serious collectors will even know they exist let alone own one. Note the gold painted back and the gold dial label holder and clip. The finger stop has no centre leg due to the thickness of the Bakelite dialler. These must only have been supplied in the very early days and imagine most of the very few fitted were broken or replaced when factory refurbished. All in all a collectors dream phone. This is part of a collection being sold off and is not wired to work. I have a number of his telephones to sell for him and so if you want to contact him direct I will provide his telephone number once you have left me your full details.
