This is a very rare 300 series telephone made by Siemens brothers. The colour is more of a cherry red and as you can see looks wonderful. It has been stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. It has been fitted with 4000 ohm bell coils and so runs perfectly on one ren. It retains its original Siemens red handset lead which is so rare to find. It has been fitted with an electronic microphone and a GPO specification round plastic line in with a UK telephone socket.
Now for the collector this is the good and bad news. The handset is in wonderful condition and probably worth around £300 on its own and it has an incredibly rare metal hygienic mouth piece insert that could be removed and boiled at regular intervals. I have only ever seen one other and have no idea as to its value.
The tip if the cradle was chipped and so the top has been reformed and now looks perfect. About 1/8” of an inch down from the bottom of the dial there is a mould imperfection running to the inside of the telephone. This cannot be seen easily and you would have to have it pointed out. The plastic has some slight mottling but I imagine it was there from new as it is inside as well. It has minor chips to the base. The overall colour is very good and the cherry red is very pleasing. It is fully working to both dial out and receive perfectly and ready to plug in and go.
The good news is this is a bargain price of £495 and so be quick
