This is a wonderful GPO No 121 model dating around 1930. The telephone part is pretty much original including all the electronics and the top bells and fittings with only a few exceptions. The ear cap is a remodelled GPO No 18 and the receiver has been fitted with a 3T capsule. I have kept the internal mechanism and just removed the coils that were faulty to allow the same weight and feel of the receiver. The carbon microphone has been replaced with a GPO No 21 electronic unit to bring the speech quality up to modern standards. The original brown coating has a crack but still look great. The metal parts have been black painted rather than plaited but again are original and look wonderful. It has a genuine No12 GPO metal dial with enamel face plate and stainless steel finger plate. I have fitted a best quality hand plaited braided two way receiver cord. The telephone internals are all original as is the dovetailed box. The back board is a reproduction as is the shelf and bracket. The shelf is screwed the back board and not secured with little metal brackets. As you can see it looks great and is a quality made item. The telephone and back board have been varnished to match and so it looks as good the an all original. The genuine GPO No22 mouthpiece has been painted. This as you can see is fabulous and also considerably cheaper than if it were totally original. See my other one that is listed. This telephone has been set up and fully tested to work perfectly to both dial out and receive. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge.
