This is a genuine GPO ivory 162 dated 1937 and is one of the best you will find. It has been fitted with slightly later 232 internals to allow it to be used perfectly on the modern system. It retains its lead internal plate with the original wiring diagram pasted to it. This is a rare opportunity to own an example as good as this. It is fitted with an electronic microphone a best quality hand plaited reproduction braided cord and a GPO specification round plastic line in with a modern plug in socket. It has a genuine GPO No 10 dial with a genuine enamel alpha numerical dial face. This is better than the telephone in my own collection in that the colour has not stained at all. It has no repairs but has had a small crack that is pictured in the handset. This looks like it may have been there from new. I have fitted perfect reproduction rubber feet as the original had turned to dust. Not many of these ivory telephones have survived and a tiny fraction in this condition.

It will be supplied with a black GEC 64D wall mounted bell set and double socket to enable it to be used and retain the beautiful ring sound.

This is a real collector’s piece and the best thing about such a beautiful old original telephone is it can be used as it was designed to be 71 years ago. I will make a dial label with your information at no extra cost.

Postage and packing is £20 to any UK address.
