This model was designed in the early 1930s and as you can see was the for runner to the GPO 300 series telephone. It has the most delightful double gong ring and has been fully restored. It has been stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. I have fitted a GPO specification round plastic line in cord with a UK plug socket and an electronic microphone to bring the speech quality up to modern standards. It has been set up on a special line simulator to make sure the dial is set up correctly for speed and electronic contacts etc. I have then tested it on my own BT line to make sure it dials out and receives perfectly. The handset is an original GPO braided cord.
