These are hard to find now and a real collectors item in good condition. In the late 1990s a friend and I had someone in India that would locate these in the best condition available. They are usually in terrible condition because they were used until impossible to repair. We only imported the best ones available and shared them out between us. I packed mine away in boxes in my loft and have no idea where to start to find them. A few have surfaced and I have now restored them.
This one is in good condition baring in mind these are made from a Bakelite material and so very brittle. It has a few imperfections as shown in the pictures. The handsets often crack but this one appears to have an Acrylic one and so no problems. These were made using the tooling sold by ATM after they had finished with it. These are not a reproduction and are very sought after. The Bakelite has no chips or cracks but has a couple of little white specks in the Bakelite as circled in the pictures. If you look at the picture of the rear beteen the cradle you can see some whitening. All in all not perfect but very nice for this collectable model and colour. I have added a proper genuine GPO dial as the ones used were not very good and as I give a lifetime of ownership guarantee this was essential. It has been fitted with an electronic microphone, a best quality hand plaited braided handset cord and a GPO specification round plastic ivory line in cord with a UK telephone plug socket. It has new feet and as you an see looks fabulous. This fully working to dial out and receive. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge.
