This model was used on the system in the days when they required batteries to supply the line power. They also had no dial fitted and so this one has been modified to enable it to be used on the modern system with the addition of a dial and a 1960s GPO telephone wiring board. This enables it to work perfectly on the modern system to both dial out and receive. The actual wooden telephone is original and has had modern copies and original GPO parts fitted. The handle to the side if turned will ring a little bell inside as a nice feature. This is quite a rare telephone and in its as found state and is not able to be used and so this brings a lovely old telephone back to life. Dated around 1920s when issued.
